Financial statements and financial analytics are most useful when built for the users of financial statements. For this reason, the UAFRS Advisory Council includes practitioners representing many various constituencies of financial statements, not only experts in accounting.
The UAFRS Advisory Council assists in identifying accounting inconsistencies and vetting methods for restating financials into uniform standards that provide for more comparable analytics over time and across peers.
Council members help to shape, opine, or provide commentary on new uniform accounting methodologies. Council members focus on the applicability of adjustments to their relevant fields. Various perspectives include UAFRS for equity investing, credit analysis, peer benchmarking, corporate governance, and asset and sector allocation in aggregate or for macroeconomic insights.
Council members review the latest research impacting their areas of interest and provide insights to publications, events, and other research venues.
As UAFRS Council members, they have no legal or monetary commitment to UAFRS standards nor their usage nor promulgation. The Council is growing monthly incorporating a wide array of financial analysis given its many uses.
